Amount of Sunshine a Year in Austria

The tables below give yearly averages for how much sun cities and towns get in Austria.

You can jump to a separate table for each section of the country: Western Austria that includes the regions of Tyrol (Tirol) and Vorarlberg, Southern and Central Austria which covers Carinthia (Kärnten), Salzburg and Styria (Steiermark) and Northern and Eastern Austria which takes in Burgenland, Lower Austria (Niederösterreich), Upper Austria (Oberösterreich) plus Vienna (Wien).

Each place has three measures of sunshine. The number for % Sun is the usual percentage of daylight hours when the sun shines. Hours gives the total hours of sunshine that's normal during a year.

Days are the typical number of days annually when cloud covered the sun for no more than 20 percent of the time.
