Sunshine in Ontario: Average Hours and Days a Year

The tables below list yearly averages for the number of sunny days and hours of sunshine at cities and towns in Ontario.

The places are grouped into a separate table for each region of the province: Eastern, Central, Southwestern, Northeastern and Northwestern Ontario.

The tables give several measures of sunshine. The number for % Sun is the usual percentage of daylight hours with bright sunshine.

Hours gives the total hours of bright sunshine that's normal during a year. Days statistics are for the typical number of days annually with any amount of measurable sunshine. All the data are averages for the years 1981 to 2010.

Northeastern Ontario

The northeastern region of Ontario stretches from the shores of Lake Huron to James Bay. South Baymouth and Gore Bay are on Manitoulin Island in Lake Huron, while Moosonee is near the south end of James Bay.
