How Often Vail Has Cold Temperatures

Most nights at Vail are below freezing, and a frosty night can even happen here in summer. From October to April, the nights sometimes drop to 0 °F (-18 °C ) or less. Negative temperatures occur 25 times a year on average.

Most winter days remain below freezing for the entire day. Frosty days can show up as early as October or as late as May. The resort city averages 71 days a year when the thermometer never rises above 32 °F.
