Vancouver typically has 41 days a year when the minimum temperature is at 0 °C or below. The average date for the last frost in spring is March 18. Frost normally returns here on November 10. The frost-free period extends for 237 days on average between the final spring frost and the first fall frost.

How Often Vancouver Has Cold Temperatures

Vancouver's chilliest winter nights have lows below -10 °C. The city averages just two nights a year, from November to February, when the thermometer drops that low. Temperatures down to -20 °C (-4 °F) are not normal here.

Also from November to February, the city can remain below freezing all day long. It typically has just three or four days a year when the temperature never rises above 0 °C.
