Average ocean temperatures off the coasts of Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts are listed below for each month in degrees Fahrenheit and degrees Celsius.

From Connecticut to Wood's Hole, Massachusetts, summer sea temperatures generally average at least 69 °F (20 °C) in summer.

Compared with Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard, the water at Boston stays a few degrees cooler in summer and fall.

The coolest ocean temperatures measured along the southern New England coast are at Wood's Hole in January, when the water averages just 34 °F (1 °C).
